Meet Spherovelo Juno, the world’s first safely unstable ride-on for 9-24 month olds.
The Juno accelerates the development of young children by making the connection between the child’s senses (vision, pressure, equilibrium…) and their motor system. Some might call it balance but it’s really more about the coordination of their muscles in response to what they see and feel.
Rather than wheels, Juno glides on rotating spheres, using the theory that a freely-moving ball will ‘relocate’ instead of tip: making it harder to fall off. This means Juno simulates the feel of a bike, while being more stable. Use the training wheels to make it a stable ride-on for under kids, or remove them altogether for a bit of wiggle and teach them balance and co-ordination.
The overall result is one super cool looking balance bike that can be ridden by tiny tots, aged 9 months and up.
One lucky Mums Grapevine subscriber will win a Spherovelo Juno balance bike ($155) in either red, blue or white.

Created by Scandanavian textile designers with backgrounds in art and fashion, Lucky Boy Sunday knitted art toys and soft furnishings suit a child’s space … or not! Each piece straddles the world of adults and children with appeal that is certainly not confined to the playroom.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the ultimate toy is a cardboard box.

The Portugese designers take their mission – to make your days colourful ones – very seriously indeed, by offering their designer paper crafts at tiny prices. If you have a printer, it’s a cinch to whip up play scenes, puppet theatres, blocks, masks and more in minutes.
