New Aussie rules for educational play

Posted on December 13, 2012 in Play Time by Simone

Ozzilla Australian educational games and decorSay g’day to one of our new favourite brands, Ozzilla. This fresh take on educational games and decor has a distinctly modern Australian feel. Featuring quirky Aussie references (U is for Ute, F is for footy) and pared-back, contemporary illustrations, the range includes memory games, wall friezes, mobiles, height charts and flash cards. As well as being easy on the eye, they’re something refreshing about toys that reflect your surroundings and open up conversations about the real world (What’s a yabby, Mum? Where do dingos live?)

Meet Juno: A super smart ride-on

Posted on December 04, 2012 in Gadgets & Gear, Out & About, Play Time by Simone

Early Rider Juno Ride-On - Balance BikeYou might need an engineering background to fully understand the thinking behind the Early Rider Juno, but anyone with eyes can understand it’s gorgeous!

Rather than wheels, Juno rides on rotating spheres, using the the theory that a freely-moving ball will ‘relocate’ instead of tipping: making it harder to fall off. This means Juno simulates the feel of a bike, while being more stable. Use the training wheels to make it a stable ride-on, or remove them for a bit of wiggle to teach balance and co-ordination. The result is a balance bike that can be ridden by tiny tots, aged 12 months up (and one cool looking vehicle!)

Available from Early Rider – $155
